Papasan Chair Makeover

Rachel was given a papasan chair, which she loves, but it was uncomfortable due to the rattan ribs poking through the cushion. I decided to fix the problem by putting a layer of leftover carpet between the cushion and the frame.

First trace the size of the “bowl” onto the back of the carpet.
Next, cut the circle with a utility knife, but be careful not to cut the real carpet.
Finish off the rough edges with scissors. Then cut one radius into the circle, and form a cone shape.CIMG9233
Smooth out the lump in the middle, and then you’re done.CIMG9257
Ah, much better.
