Junior American Resident

I’m happy to report that Laura’s interview last Thursday at the American Embassay in Addis went well and she has already received her temporary green card. Here’s what Andrew’s email said:

Laura’s interview went well on Thursday and we picked up her passport with the temporary (6 month) immigrant visa in it today. They canceled her normal tourist visa. We also got a packet of information in a sealed envelope to give to the immigration officer when we get to Dallas (who know how much time that will delay us in Dallas?). Once she enters the States it starts the process to get the permanent immigrant visa (green card) which should be good for something like 5-10 years. I think we will learn all the details of that process when they pull us into the “room” at the Dallas immigration. Hopefully, it will be done before the five weeks are up [before they are scheduled to return to Ethiopia].

PTL! Pray for them as it is a long and grueling trip and then they will have to do this process before they can leave the airport. They are due to arrive on Friday afternoon.
