Chief Research Officer

I’m nearly a week late in bragging about Gary’s promotion: he is now SIL International’s Chief Research Officer (affectionately known as “the old CRO”). This was officially announced on SIL’s website last Friday: SIL Announces First Chief Research Officer. Please click on the link and read the short article.

Most of you reading this blog will know that we use the term “promotion” advisedly–in our organization that doesn’t have quite the same idea as in other organizations who might employ a chief research officer. 😉

This new position will likely mean more meetings to attend and quite a bit more travel, too. One trip directly related to this new job will be to Singapore in the fall. He also has other travel scheduled for August (twice to Europe, once to Colorado) right after we return from a week of vacation in the Dominican Republic on Aug 1.

I do not know all that is involved in your new position, but it seems God has provided the strengths and qualifications He needed at this time and place.

Thank you Cal and Laurel. I”m just in the process of sending out an email with this news too, but looks like you found it here first. God bless!
