Another Close Call on the Freeway

I just got back from taking Gary to the airport. He’s on his way to Washington, DC for a few days of meetings, followed by a few more days of meetings at the Library of Congress.

As we were driving along I-20 at freeway speeds, a heavily-laden pickup truck lost a giant something off the back of it and it we would have ran smack into it if I hadn’t swerved into another lane. Fortunately, the lane was empty enough for me to swerve into.

After our hearts calmed down, Gary remarked that that is why he can’t drive on the freeway–he can’t see “fast enough” to be able to react in time.

We thank God for his protection.
