Eye Exam

Gary went for his annual Low-Vision exam this week, the last one being 3 years ago. She said his eyes were in great shape–except for the dead spot in each retina. No cataracts.

We scheduled this exam so he could get new driving glasses. His last Occutech bit the dust, the plastic literally crumbled. But it was 20 years old, so maybe it was time for a new one.

DSC07750I told Gary to take the broken thing with him to see if he could turn in the business part of this, the microtelescope, for a refund or something.  Well, it turns out he could.  Actually, they are going to mount the old microtelescope on top of new glasses for less than $600, rather than us paying $1800 for a completely new one.  Yay!  (Our recently improved support situation has come in handy with extra purchases like this.)  We hope he gets the new one in about two weeks and then he can start driving again–you know, drive himself to church once every three months or something like that… 🙂
